English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) Administration Coordinator

Description:

The ELICOS Administration Coordinator is responsible for the efficient administration of the UNSWIL ELICOS operations. The position provides assistance to the Director of Studies (DoS), Heads of Studies HoSs) and Senior Specialist Teachers (SSTs) by effectively administering processes including, but not limited to: student orientation, student data management, attendance  monitoring, testing, course timetabling, production of course related  resources, production of certificates and organisation of graduations.

IELTS Examiner Training

Description:

Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified and experienced TESOL teachers to train as an IELTS examiner in Speaking at centre AU088 UNSW Institute of Languages.

UNSW Institute of Languages conducts 35 IELTS tests per year mainly on Saturdays and also on some Thursdays.

Once interest has been expressed, a recruitment pack will be emailed; the application needs to be lodged by 5pm on Monday 25 August 2014. Interviews for the training weekend will be held in September 2014.

The following are the dates of the Training Session: Speaking Examiner Training - Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 October 2014; 9.00am to 5.00pm

Essential Qualifications

  • TESOL teaching qualifications (Degree plus Cert TESOL or equivalent, minimum)
  • Minimum of 3 years (full time) or part time equivalent (1500 hours) teaching experience
  • Commitment to being available on most of the specified (Saturday) dates.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
  • Experience in marking other language tests
  • Postgraduate studies in linguistics
  • Willingness to attend recertification sessions and ongoing professional development
Timeframe
  • Please submit a CV with your expressions of interest by 15 August 2014.
  • An Information Pack with a Guide for IELTS Applicants and an Application Form will then be forwarded to interested applicants.

Administration Officer

Description:

The Administration Officer is responsible for providing day to day high level administrative and clerical support to the Student Engagement and Success team, which delivers support and engagement services to all current students in the UNSW Institute of Languages and UNSW Foundation Studies. The position is responsible for delivery of high level customer service to all internal and external customers.

The role of the Administration Officer is important in streamlining and implementing efficient processes to providing an appropriate student experience. Integral to this role is the administration of student documents and interviews, to ensure compliance and appropriate monitoring of international students who are under the age of eighteen and who require a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW) from UNSW Global, as per Standard 5 of the National Code 2007 and the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000. The Administration Officer is also responsible for administrative tasks related to student activities and projects and tasks related to the support and engagement of students.

Academic English Teachers (TESOL)

Description:

UNSW Global Pty Limited is the international education, training and consultancy company of the University of New South Wales. The Institute of Languages (UNSWIL) provides a range of courses including English for Academic Purposes, General English and Professional English.

UNSWIL is offering contracts of varying lengths from 8 September 2014 in Academic English teaching for experienced Academic English teachers.

Essential Criteria:
A degree and TESOL qualification; demonstrated skills in Academic English teaching; proven ability to work as part of a team; awareness of cross-cultural communication issues; demonstrated organisation skills and a knowledge of EEO/AA and OHS principles.

Desirable Criteria:
Post-Graduate TESOL qualifications; proven commitment to professional development; experience in materials development and awareness of current developments in the field of languages teaching.
